It’s that time of year once more. The college students are studying away for midterm exams before heading off to a warmer climate for Spring Break. I myself went to the Dominican Republic for Spring Break my Senior year of college, and it was one of the best and most fun weeks of my life so far.
But when traveling outside the country for a trip, regardless if it’s Spring Break or family vacation, you should always make sure that your CT insurance is squared away and will have you covered in the event of an emergency or something else that might force you to cut your trip short. The biggest insurance hassle when traveling abroad is normally medical coverage, so in order to completely avoid this travel nightmare altogether, we’ve found some really great tips that will have you enjoying yourself all week in the sun!
- Load up on sunscreen- Don’t think you’re cool by ignoring sunscreen. There are few things worse on vacation than a bad sunburn that will have you up in the hotel room (or worse a hospital room) for a few days instead of back on the beach.
- Drink your water people! We know you’re going to indulge in some adult beverages while on vacation, and that’s fine! But just make sure that you’re drinking plenty of water as well, because you can easily dehydrate yourself between the booze and the sun. Not a good combination at all.
- Stay together: This is especially true if traveling outside the country. Always make sure that everyone in your party is together before embarking out for anything. Remember the buddy system from summer camp? Works great here too!
- Watch out for the riptides and under toes. You may think they’re nothing to worry about, but they’ll sweep you off your feet faster than you can say ‘margarita’ if you’re not careful
Really, as long as you are smart about your surroundings and use your common sense, you’ll be okay. But if something does happen, you can rest assured that your CT insurance will have your back. Enjoy the sun and sand!
