Formerly known as Oliver’s Tavern, our partners at Scotch Plains Tavern have revamped the space into a modern and down to earth restaurant and bar for all to enjoy.
The rustic feel really captures the history of the area and gives homage to all of the businesses who made Essex for what it is today.
The main floor has bright natural lighting, a cozy fireplace, and plenty of room for guests to enjoy a nice meal with friends or family.
Scotch Plains Tavern doesn’t disappoint when it comes to their food either. Their menu includes a variety of sandwiches, wraps, burgers, wood fired flatbreads, fresh seafood, steaks, and much more! Scotch Plains Tavern also accommodates special food requests or allergies, so you can still enjoy chicken wings on a gluten free diet.
Scotch Plains Tavern also has an on tap bar on their second floor with plenty of seating and flat screen TVs to accommodate sports enthusiasts.
They have a variety of wines, malt, specialty drinks, and even work with local breweries, such as our partners at Still Hill Brewery, to provide quality craft beers to their customers.
Their game room has a pool table and vintage shuffleboard for added entertainment.
If you need to accommodate a large party, they even have special seating with a great view of the whole tavern. Just make sure to reserve those seats ahead of time!
Happy Hour is from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM from Monday through Friday, with $2 off a beer or wine, and $4 off specially marked appetizers.
Live performances from local bands are also held on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 PM to 12:30 AM. It’s a great way to celebrate local musicians and enjoy your weekend!
