That’s a question I’m sure many of us have asked whenever we’ve seen a car such as a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or other out-of-this-world sports car. We obviously know that these beautiful pieces of machinery already cost well into the six figures just to purchase, but what about all the other costs associated with owning one of these vehicles? Specifically, what would it cost to insure one of these vehicles?
Now the reason we’re discussing this is because last night’s episode of 60 Minutes had a story about Lamborghini and it’s fifty year anniversary. They explained how prized these automobiles really are to the richest of the rich. Not only do these incredible vehicles start $400,000, but there’s a one year waiting list to receive one of these beasts. Now, obviously when you pay that type of money, you can have the car built and customized to your specific liking, as they reported last night. In fact, no two Lamborghinis are the same.
So as I was watching this last night and salivating, my mind (as it often does) ventured to insurance. If these cars cost so much money to purchase, how much do these people have to shell out to insure these cars? I can’t imagine what the Connecticut auto insurance rates would be!
Well, by doing some research, an approximation of around $14,000 -$16,000 per year will cost you to insure a Lamborghini. Now obviously this is a whole heck of a lot more than the typical auto policy in Connecticut that averages around $1400 per year, but folks, this policy isn’t for your typical car. Furthermore, if you can afford a Lamborghini, you’re probably not too worried about how much insurance will cost.
