St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th. In America everyone has the chance celebrate the festivities and bring out their Irish side. However, these modern day traditions didn’t come into fruition until Irish immigrants came to America.

Of course, any good celebration comes with delicious food, and if you’re looking to cook up authentic recipes for friends and family on St. Patrick’s Day, here’s what you can make:

Additionally, we can’t forget about St. Joseph’s Day which is on February 19th. This holiday kept a bit more of its religious roots and celebrates the relief St. Joseph provided to Sicilians during a famine. Similar to St. Patrick’s Day, there are parades, and of course, great food. However, the dishes are traditionally meatless due to Lent taking place during this time of the month.
