We talk a lot about buying homes and CT home insurance here at Paradiso Insurance, but rarely do we discuss selling your home. This can be just as big a project as buying a home, so there’s a lot that you should know.
But today, we’re not going to talk about the process of selling a home. Instead we’re going to touch on some quick and easy tips that you can do yourself before you put your home on the market in order to really make it appealing to potential buyers.
So channel your inner ‘do-it-yourselfer’ and take a look at the tips listed below:
1) Brake out a can or two of paint and go to town. You really don’t realize what a fresh coat of paint can do to the look of a room or your whole house even until you do it. But just don’t go for something out of the ordinary in order to make it seem appealing. Go with a fairly normal color here.
2) Simple fixture upgrades can do wonders. We’re not talking a complete overhaul of the kitchen or bathroom, but maybe a new faucet or door handle will definitely help you out during those open houses.
3) Cabinet doors are key. You don’t need to completely replace them, but a refinish job on them will really make your kitchen, bathroom, finished basement, or whatever look ten times better. And trust us, it’s not that big of a project. Just think about how easy it is to refinish a coffee table. It’s basically the same principle!
So best of luck in your selling process, and if you have any questions or concerns regarding CT home insurance, you know who to call!
