Dori, our account manager, is no exception to that fact, because she grew up right here in Stafford Springs! Dori is always smiling, and many of our customers have told us that they truly enjoy doing business with her because she makes them feel at home. We asked Dori for her favorite quote, and her answer was that, “If you want to leave a lasting impression, then treat people the same way you would like to be treated.” It’s apparent to us that Dori lives by this quote, because she treats all of our customers with care and respect, and she’s always positive.
Of course, there’s more to Dori than meets the eye, so we asked her a couple of questions to get to know her even better.
Who is Dori Wilson outside of Paradiso Insurance?
Well, first and foremost, I’m a mother to my beautiful children. I have a ten year old son named Logan, and a seven year old daughter named Hayden.
What do you like to do in your free time in the evenings or on weekends?
I’m definitely a sports mom, as I’m constantly bringing my kids to their sports, activities, or events. My daughter Hayden is a cheerleader, and my son Logan does football, basketball, and baseball. Sometimes when we aren’t preoccupied with the kids, my husband and I will enjoy a night to ourselves with a night out or a nice dinner in. It’s nice to have some peace and quiet occasionally, but our kids are the world to us.
What are your favorite hobbies and/or past times?
Well, I took dance for eleven years at Serafin’s School of Dance, which is now Stafford Academy of Dance. What’s interesting is that my dance teacher, Heidi, was actually my daughter Hayden’s dance teacher, too.
Can you tell us about your most recent vacation?
My family took a trip out to Myrtle Beach, and it was great to catch up with my husband Matt’s family. We made a special trip to visit his aunts, uncles, and his grandfather who is now 95 years old.
Can you tell us about your home life?
Well, as I mentioned I am happily married to Matt for eleven years now, and we’ve actually been together since ‘97 when we started dating. We also have the kids who I spoke about, too. We have three cats as well, one named Ex after my husband’s Honda 400EX quad, one named Cali, and the last one named Mittens. Mittens is our little kitten, and she’s part Maine Coon.
How has life changed for you since you started working for Paradiso Insurance?
Most recently, I’m working on getting my insurance license to become a professional agent. I went from uninterested in the insurance space to getting tested for my license, and things couldn’t be going better for me. My Paradiso family always has my back.
What are your skills?
They call me the “claim concierge,” as I can help our customers through the process whenever they have to file a claim. I can also help with billing and endorsements, or with servicing policies.
