Ever since the tragic events of Sandy Hook Elementary School that occurred last month, fire arms that been the topic of debate with pretty much everyone- politicians, news anchors, athletes, and every day people like you and me. Whether you’re pro fire arms or not, this heated issue brings with it certain stipulations when it comes to CT homeowners insurance.

If you are a gun owner, then many insurance companies will see you as a risk, and thus raise your rates.  However if you can indicate to your CT homeowners insurance provider that you have certain safety measures such as gun locks or access codes that will only allow you, the responsible homeowner, to handle the weapon, then you may be entitled to a break on your higher-than-normal premiums.  Now before you run off purchasing weapons because we just said you may get a discount, let us be clear: all we are saying is that you probably won’t have to pay as high a premium to your CT homeowners insurance provider if you have safety measures in place for your fire arms, in comparison to those homeowners who don’t.

Regardless of how you feel about firearms, we at Paradiso Insurance want to make sure that your home is as safe a living area as can be.  We are here to help you out with any CT homeowners insurance questions, concerns, or claims you may have, and hopefully our tips on how to live a safer, healthier life have struck a chord with someone over the past couple of years.  We only ask that homeowners be safe, and that they know that they have the full support of Team Paradiso.
